The Board of Directors of Strong to Serve, Inc. is responsible for governing, directing, and overseeing the management and affairs of the organization. The Board of Directors has adopted corporate governance principles and bylaws, which it regularly reviews to ensure the continued fulfillment of Strong to Serve, Inc.’s mission and vision.

Alexandria Young, Board Director, Chief Strategy Officer, is responsible for the strategic plan and implementation of Strong to Serve, Inc.’s operations. Alex is a founding director of the organization. Her passion for athletics started on the California Junior Tennis Circuit where she competed and won games against Venus and Serena Williams. Also, while attending Wellesley College, she was the number one “singles” and number one “doubles” player on the Women’s Tennis team during her freshman year. Alex currently lives in Seattle, Washington, and works for General Electric Capital Corporation as an Assistant Vice President, Corporate Finance. She holds an M.B.A. from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and a B.A. degree in Political Sciences from Wellesley College.

Amanda Trosen, Public Relations Strategy Officer, is responsible for fundraising, partnership building, and event organization. She joined Strong to Serve in February 2013. As a former orphan herself, Amanda identifies strongly with the mission of Strong to Serve. In addition, as a tri-athlete and marathoner, Amanda feels empowered to raise awareness and funds for orphans through volunteering work and participation in athletic events. Amanda first fundraised and trained for Strong to Serve in 2011 and distinguished herself as being the top fundraising athlete for that year. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications.
